This StuG is restored to running condition and has for the Åke Lindman production of the "Tali-Ihantala 1944" -filmings been painted in a (made-up, but quite nice looking) wartime camoflage colour scheme. The vehicle still sports the Finnish made deflector for the commander's cupola and the extra armour in front of the loader. These pictures are taken in Helsinki in August 2007. Photos and text copyrighted © by Andreas Lärka, Finland.
The first couple of picture in the second set are taken by Mr. Jaakko Pihlaja during the filming of the "Suuri torjuntavoitto" -video. In the second picture we can se the original German Dunkelgelb -colour and the shipping label for the StuG. The label was discovered during the re-painting of the vehicle. The following pictures are taken during the restoration of the vehicle. Note the traces of Dunkelgelb, the Finnish swastika and the German Balkenkreutz underneath the green colour on the left side of the fighting compartment. Note the traces of the Finnish three-colour camoflage on the back of the fighting compartment, the early "plain pipe" fendersupport and the odd "hubcap" on the right drive sprocket. The extra spaced armour in front of the loader is a late / post-war addition. These pictures are taken by Mr. Jukka O. Kauppinen (the first three), by Mr. Olli Väisänen (the following five) and by Mr. Matti Yrjölä (the following five). Finally is a set of pictures taken by myself. All photos are taken at the Finnish Armour Museum's storage in Parola, Finland. Photos copyrighted © by Mr. Jukka O. Kauppinen, Mr. Olli Väisänen and Mr. Matti Yrjölä. All rights reserved.
