Import from Russia

Postby w9816 » Thu Sep 21, 2006 2:01 pm

How hard - or easy - is it to get stuff form "across the border"?

I am particularly looking for bits and pieces for a russian-made WW2 vehicle.

I have heard that in some parts of (Russian) Karelia you would even get along with Finnish language.

Will the Russian border control be a problem?

Hi Rolf,
I don't know. I have never done such a thing. You might want to be a little more specific about what vehicle you are talking about. Maybe there already are "bits & pieces" available here in Finland.

Hi Andreas

we're still struggling with our Komsomolets. Would like to find the hatches with hinges for it, as they are a bit too complicated to easily fabricate. Also one (and a half) seat is missing, the "dome" for the Degtjarjev, the spare wheel, head light....

Panssarimuseo will not give any of their parts up, and we have not been able to find anything at e.g. shooting ranges.

regards

Rolf

Hi!
This is my first post on this forum :D
My english is poor but i have information about modelkits from Ukraina.
My friend bought for me T-28 (ICM) in Kiev. No problems on border and very nice price - about 10 EURO. Shop on central rail station was open non-stop.
BT-42 (Estern Express) he bartered by post with some modeler from Ukraina.
Best regards
