Radios in Stug III early

Postby stug III » Fri Sep 22, 2006 8:03 pm

Hallo fellow Stug fans, I am new here on this forum, but “old“, in my fascination of “Stug III, I have on and off been building an early Stug III B in 1:35 scale, and would like to know if anyone here has any infomations regarding the general layout of the radios in this one, how the cables were laid out, connected and so on, I'm building this one with a full interior, and a cutaway on one side so everything inside can be revealed, I have been visiting Akswall, Bovington camp, and Münster plus several smaller Museums in Germany to get his problem solved, but either they didn't know, ot rather didn't really care, they had a diagram at “Münster, but wouldn't allow me to copy it, I took a photo, but off course it was poor.
I have also contacted several radia amateurs, who actually have these radios, and operate them, in hope of a solution on this, but so far all blanks.
Hopefully someone her can help me :(
Kindest regards

Hi,
I checked out my material on the StuG, but didn't find anything on the radio-layout in the Ausf. B. Maybe some of the other readers of this forum knows?

In Spielberger's "Sturmgeschütz and Its Variants" -book there are some pictures of the radio-layout in an Ausf. E. However, I don't know how far off that is from the Ausf. B.

Hi Andreas and thanks for your ansver, I do have this book, and yes apparently there's a alot of difference in the layout of the radios from Ausf,B-E, in the earlier versions there were only a tube to the gunner, and no actual intercom ,I am very particular about the details, and now my curiosity is awaken, so I have to reasearch so more.

Kindest regards
