Some questions for Sturmis

Postby Rainer » Mon Mar 16, 2009 11:57 pm

Hello!
My name is Rainer from Germany.
Congratulations for your fantastic web-site! :D
I have some questions about Finnish Aussault Guns:
- Do you know something about winter-camouflage (probably fotos)?
- Meanwhile I have viewed a cuple of WWII Photos about the StuG's, but
none of them shows the welded visor shield in front of the driver's visor.
Is it possible, that this is a post-war modification?
- Do you have fotos of battle damaged or destroyed Sturmis (especially 531-5 /531-6)
- I have read on a Finnish web-page one 10,5 cm StuH 42 /Ausf. G was used in Finnish Army. Is this correct?
Do you know anything about this vehicle?
- i want to ask, which one of your books, listed up on your web page is the most suitable for scale modelling
Finally one information: "Warriors" produce a Finnsh Infantry-Man 1/35 scale (Item No. 35117)
Thank you very much for your answers and kind regards
Rainer

I have never seen a picture of a Finnish StuG with winter camoflage.

No. It's a wartime modification. If you look closer to the book-add on the top left on my mainpage you'll see three StuGs with the visor.

None that can be published here (due to copyright issues).

No.

The "Suomalaisten rynnäkkötykkien kohtalot" has more pics and is therefore more suitable for scale modeling. The book is co-written by Mr. Erkki Käkelä and me.
